Not bad, perhaps, but not right.Ĭonversely, if it's strung with phosphor bronze and going into a Fishman Loudbox or PA, the acoustic voicings are much better (still not drastically different from one another, nor recognizable as dreadnought vs. But then with those strings and that amp, none of the acoustic voicings sound quite right. If you're going for a Tele, it's okay into an amp like that DRRI, if it's got nickel-plated steel strings on it. The problem as I see it is in the strings and the amp. Long story short, the Tele Acoustasonic does neither Tele sounds nor acoustic/electric to my satisfaction. Then he wanted me to hear it through a PA. I tried one not because I was really in the market for one, but I was in Clawson's Music, they had just gotten them in, I was curious and of course they were pushing them.īubba Clawson first plugged me into a DRRI. I've commented on this before (even started a thread on it), but I tried one when they first came out. and round out my guitar stable with a Tele Acoustasonic? Or a Godin A6 Ultra? Thinking I may just gather some unused stuff to trade-in. All the comfort of a very lightweight electric guitar, with enough enjoyable acoustic tone to not feel the need to plug in, unless wanting to.

Gotta say, I really enjoyed playing it acoustically. I've sort of had one in the back of my mind for a couple of years now and finally played one at my local GC, today. but at the same time, having wonderfully great utility. And sounds fairly satisfying, acoustically, for just grabbing up and getting to the music. And much nicer sound than an electric guitar unplugged. More nimble and handy than an acoustic guitar. I'm thinking just because it would be a wonderfully easy guitar to just casually grab up and play, without thinking about plugging in, nor anything else. (I don't.) Not because I need another electric.
